Can I use a Publishing License font in an eBook?

Yes, under the Publishing License, you may use a font in an eBook. However, keep in mind that you may use the font only for one E-pub/Printed book title. Embedding the font in your Ebook is permitted for use in electronic publications, provided that the font is cannot be extracted.

What is a Title?

A “title” means one (1) standalone publication; each book in a series and each issue of an publication (such as a magazine publication) is a single title.

Can I use a Publishing License  font in an eBook and a physical book under the Publishing license?

Yes; An Publishing License allows you to use the font in an E-book, E-card, or E-magazine, physical book, printed book.

In what formats can an e-publication be available?

Fonts purchased under the Publishing License may be used in E-books, E-cards, or E-magazines. These might be offered in PDF, EPUB, Kindle, Digital Editions, or other e-reader format used in a web browser. Keep in mind that the font may not be used in such a way that allows the End User (Reader) of your e-publication to extract or reverse-engineer the font.

How many copies of my eBook/printed book(s) can I sell?

The Publishing License permits use of the font only for an single book title. However, there is no quantity limit on the sales/distribution/download. If you would like to use the font in several books title, please purchase Publishing Licenses for each book title. If you have more than one book title, please purchase a number of seats that is consistent with the amount of book titles.

Can I embed the Publishing-licensed font in a website, too?

No; the Publishing License only allows you to embed the font in an e-publication. If you’d like to embed a font in your website’s code, please purchase a Webfont License.

Can I use the TTF or OTF font included in my Publishing License font to design on a desktop?

No. The Publishing License prohibits all other non publishing use, such as desktop, website, app, web app, game, end product for sale use. The Publishing License allows you to embedding the font on a E-Pub. If you also need to install the font to complete desktop design work, we recommended to purchase Business & Logo License that cover both needed.

Can I use the WOFF or WOFF2 font included in my Publishing License font to use it on a Website?

How many user can use my Publishing License font?

Under Publishing License, every font purchased is actually licensed to a E-pub/printed book title. You’ll always be required to define the total number of E-pub/printed book title will be using the font.

If I create a PDF to send to my book printer, what license do I need? Can I embed the font in the PDF?

Can I convert a Publishing License font to use on my website as a Web Font?

No; Under the Publishing License, this is not permitted.

Can I use a Publishing License font in a video/program/commercial/movie for broadcast?

No; Under the Publishing License, this is not permitted.

Can I print a Publishing License  font on a product or on product packaging for over 250k items?

No; Under the Publishing License, this is not permitted. Publishing License may allow you to print of copies of a single book title with unlimited number of print/sales.

Can I use a Publishing License font to design paid ads?

No; Under the Publishing License, this is not permitted.
