Can I use a font on my website?

Yes; under the Webfont License, a font may be converted to a webfont and embedded in your website’s code using @font-face technology.

When I purchase a Webfont License, do I receive separate font files than I would if I bought a Desktop License?

No matter which font license you purchase, you will receive the same set of files; product files are not differentiated by license at this time. The license you purchase determines the rights you are allowed. For example, if a font comes with OTF, TTF, and webfont files, and you purchase a Webfont License, you are only allowed to use the font in ways that are permitted under the Webfont License. If you purchase a Desktop License for that font, you may only use the font in ways permitted under the Desktop License, even though the font also comes with webfonts.

How can I safely use a font under a Webfont License?

You may only use the Licensed webfont with the @font-face selector in your CSS files.

Can I use the TTF or OTF font included in my Webfont folder to design on a desktop?

No. The Webfont License prohibits all other non webfont use, such as desktop, app, web app, game, e-pub, end product for sale use.

The Webfont License allows you to display the font in website(s) owned or controlled by you. The Webfont is rendered in a read-only manner and declared via @font-face selector in the website’s CSS file. If you also need to install the font to complete design work, purchase both a Desktop and Webfont license or you can choose Business & Logo License for an easy way.

Can I use licensed fonts in my online course?

If you plan to embed a font on your website that hosts the online course, a Webfont License would permits this.

If your online course uses only static graphics that implement the font (meaning that the font has been rasterized throughout the course’s graphics) please purchase a Desktop License. If your course is offered an a downloadable app, an App/Game License would allow you to use the font in the app’s UI (but not allow the student use of the font to customize an End Product.)

Under my Webfont License, can I used licensed fonts to create static graphics for a website?
