ALTERNATES & LIGATURES
How to call alternative glyph or special characters?
Hello Aluyeaholics, here’s the tricks!
1. Choose the Right One
There are some cases where clients have installed the PUO (Personal Use Only – incomplete) version and the commercial (complete) version. So first of all, make sure to choose the right font. For example, Bizantheum, for the PUO version, is named “Bizantheum“. While the complete version is named “Al Bizantheum“. All complete and commercial versions start with “Al (font name)”
2. Wombo Combo
After that, you can call alternative glyphs using combinations like those in the preview examples for each font, such as A.2 A.3 A.4 A.5 a.2 a.3 a.4 a.5 etc. For ligatures, you can use combinations like a.m a.n c.n f.f g.g l.l m.m e.m etc. Depending on the availability of alternate glyphs in each font. You can see the alternate glyphs in the image preview. You can also try it on the font preview on Aluyeah.com.

3. ADOBE
If you are an Adobe editor user like Illustrator, you can use the OpenType feature. You can learn more about it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2Q9JGbk3z0 thanks a lot to Eternal Stationery channel.
4. Ms WORD
For Ms Word users, the Aluyeah font can also run smoothly in Ms Word. This is the trick,
1. Make a new document, save it to docx format (not compatible mode)
2. Write something, for example “Mally’s Mane” (Calibri will be default)
3. Change font to Al Bizantheum on your font list
4. Select it, and click on Word art (A icon) – then ligatures – Standard Only
5. After that, try to edit Mally’s Mane text to M.3ally.3’s M.2ane

If your text changes, congratulations you made it. I hope this helps. Don’t hesitate to email us if you have any questions.
